Why do our Navigation Course?

It is so important to be able to navigate properly underwater. We strongly recommend that you take our Navigation Course. Not only will this help you become a safer diver, but you will become a more confident diver too.

Do you wonder how your SSI Instructor always manages to find the way back to the boat?

If so, the Navigation Course is what you need to learn this skill for yourself.

You might have a well-developed natural sense of orientation. But unfortunately, this is not always the case under water. This is because people can only use their senses to a limited extent in a strange environment. Our Navigation Course offers a structured programme to promote fun and safety in diving.

What you will learn

Whilst on the course, you will learn all you need to know about underwater navigation. This will make sure that you can find your own way underwater. What’s more, you won’t have to worry about where you are and the direction to take.

During the Navigation Course you will learn how to use a compass and how to apply natural navigational skills. You will also learn how to estimate distances and use different search patterns. You will find your way to different marker points and how to find your way back to the starting point.
