Fortunately we got a great dive in at Steenbras Deep before the swells really started pounding the Gordons Bay coastline on Sunday, getting bigger and bigger as the holiday weekend progressed. The surfers were out in full force at Bikini Beach on Wednesday with some of the best surfing waves we’ve had there for quite some time!
A gentle SE breeze started to blow lightly this morning and although there are still swells, the sea has flattened out. Our favourite weather forecast site predicts that the swells will start dropping late tomorrow afternoon and we expect Sunday and Monday to be the best days for diving the Gordons Bay coastline.
Our plans are as follows:
Saturday 30 April – let’s keep an eye on the sea. Let us know if you want to dive on Saturday and we’ll keep you updated.
Sunday 1 & Monday 2 May
(single tank and double tank boat dives)
Our first dive is likely to be Steenbras Deep (18 – 34 metres) followed by Steenbras River Mouth, Pinnacle or Cow and Calf, conditions depending.
FIRST DIVE: Meet at Indigo Scuba at 08h30, launch at 09h00 for the first dive.
SECOND DIVE: Meet at Harbour Island at 10h30 for the second dive.
